Exterior doors need to have a U-value of 0.30 or less and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) of 0.30 or less to qualify¹ for the 2009/2010 federal tax credit².

Storm doors, in combination with the exterior doors over which they are installed, must have a U-value and SHGC of 0.30 or less and must meet the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC)². Consumers should rely on the Manufacturer Certification Statements to determine which doors qualify.
